ABOUT
Chelsea

Chelsea Williams was born in East Stroudsburg, PA. and has lived in Philadelphia for the last 4 years. She moved to Philadelphia to pursue a career in music and has received a Bachelor's degree in Audio Production from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

Chelsea has always been passionate about music but finding her niche took some time. At a young age Chelsea showed an interest in music, taking piano lessons, playing the flute in the school band and singing in the chorus. But none of these lasted. Only when she took it upon her self to learn how to play the piano and the age of 12 did she start taking music seriously. She started to write songs and eventually moved onto Garage band for more advanced productions.

Many friends of hers were involved in music as well and shared their knowledge and experiences. At a very difficult point in her life she had to decide what was the next step for her. Chelsea felt as though she only had one choice and that was music.  Within two weeks she enrolled in The Art Institute and moved to Philadelphia and has not looked back since. With the support of her friends and family she is working towards making her dreams a reality.

For a long time music was just a hobby for Chelsea and until she had released her first single "Girl Rock It ft. The Late" many people did not know the extent of not only her passion for music but her talents as well. Chelsea writes, produces, engineers and performs all of her own music so its needless to say that she is passion about what she does.

Much of her music in influenced by her favorite artists including Sade, Banks, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Marvin Gaye, NAO just to name a few. She also pulls from her personal experiences and feels as though she can only write about whats real to her so she can remain authentic.

When Chelsea creates a song she looks for two things to happen, one when someone hears it and they've had the same experience she has, they don't feel alone. And two that the person listening gets a sense of authenticity from the song as a whole. People who know Chelsea know that she works hard and are never surprised by her music, and those who don't are, for the most part, pleasantly surprised by what they hear and even more impressed when they find out the whole song is her work (writing, production, performance & recording).

Chelsea's music has matured and evolved with her as her career grows. She is able to adapt to new sounds depending on the message of the song/album and continues to develop as an artist and engineer.

With new experiences comes new music.
